It's Sassy Saturday and today I am getting my hair done at one of my favorite salons Famous Hair. They are using Mizani products and I must say so far I am impressed. Today my stylist is using these 3 products on my hair:

Moisurefusion Milk Bath - Silk proteins and milk of almond extract removes build up and smoothes and replenishes hair.
Renew Strength Fortifying Shampoo - Strengthens my hair with protein and ceramides and moisturizes with olive fruit oil for moisture and protein balance.
Renew Strength Reconstructing Masque for damaged hair - Reinforces hair strands from the inside out with protein and ceramides and lipids for smooth managable hair.

My hair is shiny and bouncy and it smells so great there is a clean feeling that I have not gotten in a while from other shampoos and conditioners. I would recommend visitng the Mizani website for more information on their huge line of styling products for relaxed or natural hair, or use the stylist finder to find a Mizani approved stylist in your area.

Happy Sassy Saturday!!

Quickie Postie!: CalGel for ALL Gals!

So…I just got my nails done and they look great as usual deep creamy lilac and also as usual I bumped my nail and low and behold I have a nick in the polish. No matter how beautiful the nail job or polish if you have ONE bump the whole job is ruined! Now there is no substitute for nail polish, it will always reign supreme however CalGel is a great alternative to our regular polish that takes ages to dry! I know what you are thinking Gel? You mean those rubbery nails

that always look uneven? Nope this is the best thing since the pixie cut. CalGel is an overlay that comes in over 80 colors and does not chip or fade and can be put over your acrylic or real nails. You can also cover the CalGel with regular nail polish and when removed the CalGel is in tact. If you find a true CalGel artist you can get some of these awesome, super cute designs (from http://www.calgel.com/ artist Suzanne Pletner). The gel can also be removed in 15 minutes for your fill or manicure and last 8-10 weeks on your tootsies! Spring is upon us get something BOLD!

The Black List - Significantly Cinched

Ok Petals it's time for my first Black List. What is the Black List? Well black is my ultimate favorite color and let me tell it, everything looks better in black. So I am presenting items I love in black, ones I think should come in black and those that look great with black and with Fashion Week just 5 days away what better time! Now I just know we all are getting our best looks packed, tops, bottoms, frocks, high stepping stilletos, bags, make-up, hair appointment set…hmm what am I missing? Accessories! And one of this season’s old faithful trends waist cinchers (commonly known as belts but that sound so 2009) are pulling it in all over the fashion nation. So…we all want to look slimmer right? Have that hourglass waist line to die for? I know, that is our ultimate goal in life (well it’s mineJ ) to look svelte and curvy without looking over stuffed. Well this season belts are definantly in and help to bring your waistline in as well. While sifting through my closet and surfing my uber fav site Net-A-Porter for NYFW looks I, Lotus, have not neglected to grab a belt or 2 or 4 that will bring to life a past season frock and create the illusion that I have a coke bottle figure to die for. I conjur up visions of sultry and slender chantuer Keri Hilson, who was killin’ them with this waist cincher in mega hot crystals! That belt would look great with anything black dressed up or down. And let us not forget our ultra classy First Lady Michelle Obama who does it her way with confidence and class and looks fantastic! She is rockin the black leather with her casual looks, PETALS Michelle as always!

Want Our First Lady’s Belted Style? Try this laser cut belt from All Saints for $120!

There are so many styles to choose from and here are my TOP 2!

Birds of a Feather Should be black! This is a perfect combination of style and elegance. Lanvin took navy silk and created a piece of waist art that any woman will feel confident wearing dressed to the nines or casually styled. The Swarovski crystals and beads pop next to the smooth silk, this is definantly a cross seasonal piece $895. LOVE!

So Gypsy Chic!! So gorgeous and fun by Cecilia De Bucourt with embroidered beading, coins and chains. What’s even more chic is the long tie in the back which can be switched to either side tied in a lovely bow or long tie. I can definantly see myself strutting down the streets of NYC this fashion week significantly cinched by this!ADORE!$125

Here are some other fun Waist Cinchers to help you STAND OUT during New York Fashion Week!

Black Please!

Now I am sure we all have waist cinchers from skinny to ultra wide and trust me babes they all work and work IT! Pull them out lay them out and do a private fashion show in front of your mirror and always remember it's a belt not a bra in the middle gals!!
Ok Petals now you got the idea, get out there and snag some cinching swag!

See you at Fashion Week!
